Today, a telephone conversation has taken place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.

At the beginning of the dialogue, Nursultan Nazarbayev cordially congratulated the head of our state on his birthday, highlighting the personal contribution of Uzbekistan’s leader to the achievement of the current high level of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two fraternal countries.

In turn, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for earnest greetings and warm wishes as well as the wholehearted support for the development and consolidation of the Uzbek-Kazakhstani multifaceted cooperation. 

In recent years, the volume of bilateral trade has increased manifold, promising cooperation projects in priority sectors are being implemented, and interaction in the field of transport and transit communications has been enhancing.

A new direction of partnership – exchanges among the two nations’ regions – has been opened. Business contacts have intensified. Joint events are held within the framework of the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan, facilitating the augmentation of friendship and good neighborliness of our fraternal peoples.

During the conversation over the phone, topical aspects of the bilateral and regional agenda have been considered.

Particular significance was attached to the practical realization of the agreements reached at the highest level, including in the framework of the joint Intergovernmental Commission headed by the Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
