Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Both the local population and guests evaluate the work of the state by road quality

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the landscaping work on Ahmad Donish Street in Tashkent.

Previously, this road was very narrow, as in the middle of the street there was a square surrounded by a concrete wall. As a result of construction of Yunusabad metro line, this section was opened for passage. The 2.2 km section of Ahmad Donish Street from Amir Temur Street to Tashkent ring road was rebuilt into a six-lane road. The existing four-lane road was also reconstructed. Pedestrian and bicycle paths, green areas are organized. Energy efficient lighting devices installed.

Another important aspect: the green belt in the middle and the trees along Ahmad Donish Street have been preserved, 1850 ornamental trees planted.

“Allocation of additional funds for construction of the road and the purchase of modern equipment are now bearing fruit. All this should bring benefit and quality to people”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At the crossroads, the road is widened to 92 meters. Movement with a free turn to the right is provided. This will reduce traffic congestion on Ahmad Donish, Amir Temur, Bogishamol and many other streets. Travel time for those traveling from Tashkent and Kibray districts to the center of the capital will be halved. The new route will be able to handle up to 60 thousand cars a day.

The Head of the state gave instructions to responsible persons to improve the quality and expand the scale of road construction.

“Both the local population and guests evaluate the work of the state by the road quality. If the roads are good, people are happy. Therefore, it is necessary to build such high-quality transport arteries in the regions, and rural ones should also be renewed”, the President noted.

A direct dialogue with representatives of the population of Yunusabad district took place here.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also got acquainted with activities on repair and improvement on Fargona Yuli Street.

According to the project, developed jointly with the Turkish company Kalyon, it is planned to build a new 8-lane road, reconstruct the existing two-lane road, install energy-saving lighting devices, create pedestrian and bicycle paths, green areas.

The Head of the state gave instructions on development of the road industry based on the analysis of the costs of funds and materials for construction of one kilometer of the road in the country and abroad. The need for paying attention was noted not only to highways, but also to internal roads.
